Our client specialises in new technology and innovative product development. They focus on high-tech consumer and industrial markets, developing products ranging from cameras and 3D scanners to electrical vehicle control systems and small robotic arms. An opportunity has now arisen for a talented Embedded Systems Programmer / Embedded Software / Hardware Engineer to join their team.
As an Embedded Systems Programmer / Embedded Software / Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, coding and testing of real-time software (firmware) for a variety of high-tech consumer and industrial products.
Using your creativity and solid engineering background, you will think 'outside the box' in order to create robust, viable and innovative software solutions. You will be involved in the entire development cycle from initial requirement specification through to design, coding, testing and post delivery support.
Your duties will include:
- designing programming requirements, specifications and code documentation - developing low level code and firmware for communication, user interface, data acquisition and control systems - developing test cases
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- strong experience of coding in C, Assembly and C++ - strong knowledge of debugging techniques and defect tracking tools - excellent knowledge of methods for bug capture and reporting, code coverage, profiling and automated test tools - strong experience of ARM, Microchip and Atmel microcontrollers - experience of real-time systems design and programming - significant capability in use of modelling tools, such as UML - a clear understanding of control systems
